Full term...Check!.....

We hit the full term milestone today! I am officially 37 weeks and all is well. We had two appointments since my last post. Sorry for the delay….but, as usual for these days, things have been busy here at the house and office for the both of us…..*sigh……we took full advantage of naps over the holiday weekend to catch up it was AWESOME!!

Anyway, back to why you are all here….the little guy. We had an ultrasound on 5/15 that revealed that we truly have a good boy in there….he is turned down and facing my back just like he should be at this point. WOOHOO!!! I was so excited about the news….we had been chatting about it for weeks….I was a very proud, momma. = ) He’s weighing in at approximately 5.9 lbs which keeps us right on track for the 6/16 due date. Doc told us that she’s guessing he’ll be 7.5 lbs when I deliver which is just about perfect! Like I said….goooooood boy. We did get to see his little diaphragm working, too which was very cool. I didn’t know that would even be visible at this point, but there it was. She told us that seeing his diaphragm move is an indicator that he’s still a happy camper in there and that he still had plenty of ‘liquid’ room to enjoy.

Our appointment on 5/22 just confirmed that he’s still content and I have not dilated and there is no effacement. I honestly didn’t expect any at this point, I’m in agreement with the Doc that I’m going to meet the due date and maybe a little beyond...it’s just my gut instinct. I have been having some Braxton Hicks which is a good sign. They’ve been occasional up to this point….we’ll see what this work week brings. I’m still walking the stairs at the office, but it does cause swelling in my ankles….or should I say cankles….and hands. I’ve been drinking lots of water and trying to go ‘feet-up’ whenever I can at home, but it’s definitely progressing. YIKES!!!

My talented and gorgeous aunts threw me a shower Mother's Day weekend. It was absolutely perfect.....oh, and delicious. Here are a few pics from the day. I want to say thank you to both the hosts and guests....you guys are awesome.

Hope everyone is healthy and happy! Talk again soon.

The ribbon cutting…

Well…..we did it! The kiddo’s room is complete….WOOHOO!!

I’m most excited about Brandon really liking it. I included him in some choices along the way, but I definitely had an idea of what I wanted from the start and pushed us to stay with keeping the room very soothing and calm…..and we pulled it off. We both feel so chill in the room…which, if you think about it, is a darn good thing considering how much time we’ll be in there in the coming months. YIKES!!! ; )

Anyway, so here are pictures of the finished product.

Our last appointment with Dr Winn was quick and easy. Baby is still busy and healthy and I’m measuring fine. We go back in on 5/15 for an exam and ultrasound that will show us whether or not he’s in position and give us an estimate on his weight. We’re totally stoked that we get to see him again before delivery and I’m extremely anxious to know if he’s head-down. I’ve been telling him every morning for the last few weeks to “Assume the position, kiddo” and I’m hoping it worked. We went through birthing class this weekend and I’m not interested in any of the breech options available at the hospital.

Work is getting more and more difficult because I’m so distracted and I feel disoriented most of the day. I’m sure both can be attributed to the fact that I haven’t had any solid, uninterrupted sleep in over a month….god! has it been that long….no wonder!!! Anyway...I’m making it and will continue so. My last day at the office is set for 6/12 so I’m staying focused on that date on the calendar and getting my fill-in ready to take over.

I’ll be checking back in after the ultrasound and our trip to PA to see my youngest brother graduate (YEAH! Christopher).

Ciao!
