Still hanging in...

Helllllo folks. Time is ticking away for us and I must admit…..I wish it were moving a little quicker. I’m sure you are all shocked by that confession….NOT! I’m still feeling ok, just starting to get really uncomfortable. Sleep has been restless, stairs are getting tougher at work, and tying my darn tennis shoes is a becoming a workout in itself. Whew!! I’m working on biting my tongue when feeling the need to whine because this really has been a pretty easy pregnancy…..it’s hard though. Thank goodness Brandon loves me the way he does. He dishes out a great pep-talk.

We had our first bi-weekly appointment April 17 and it was quick and easy once again. My weight is an issue for me, of course….when hasn’t it been? But Dr Winn is totally pleased with how well I’ve done and Brandon loves being right. ; ) The two of them ganged up on me a little in the appointment….and I deserved it. …*sigh……

The kid is doing well. I’ve gotten a lot of comments about how I’m not showing enough, but I’m measuring just fine and his heart sounds strong and happy, so we’re sticking with that. Dr Winn told me not to listen to anyone else on the subject and that works for me.
We’re set for anther appointment on May 1 and then we’ve got birthing classes 5/2-3. I’m a little nervous about going. I’ve read both sides of the birthing class argument, but decided that we would probably like going in with too much information over not enough.

I had my first shower and it was a ton of fun. Lisa knocked it out of the park….as always. I know it was tough for her since she’s a week ahead of me in pregnancy, but I’ve learned one thing through these last 8 months…..there is nothing stopping the Lopez-Haralson train. She’s a machine!!! Here are a few pics from the day.

I want to thank everyone that came out to celebrate and help us get ready for the kiddo. Congrats to all of the game winners, as well....there was some serious competition going and I like that!! I’d love to get that group together again for a proper happy hour when I get the kiddo safely into the world. How’s that sound, girls? = )

We’re still working on the room….yes, I know….it is taking forever. We’re getting very close though, so don’t give up hope yet. It will be ready by the time we drive him home from the hospital….pinky swear. I’ll post some of those pics when we cut the ribbon.

Thanks for checking in on us. We’ll be chatting again soon. Ciao.
